Free Walking Tour: Where Vancouver Remembers. In 1890, when the City of Vancouver allocated a section at Mountain View Cemetery for the burial of Chinese, Japanese and Jewish people at the farthest extremity of the grounds’ southern end, the Chinese Benevolent Association purchased 31 lots, each containing 16 graves to bury their members.

This walking tour is designed and conducted by three volunteers who have researched the stories on several interesting early Chinese families buried in the Chinese section of the cemetery.
